KHEIR ZAMAN
Under the Metro Market umbrella, the Mansour Manufacturing & Distribution Group introduced the Kheir Zaman chain in 2006. Designed to cater to lower-income consumers, the chain provides a wide range of affordable food products, ensuring budget-friendly options for everyday needs. Over the years, Kheir Zaman has expanded significantly, now operating more than 200 outlets across 21 governorates in Egypt, with plans for further growth in the near future. The chain’s innovative approach, including heavy discounts, has given it a strong competitive advantage in the market.
In 2018, Kheir Zaman launched its “hard soft” discount stores, offering essential goods at deeply reduced prices while maintaining high-quality standards. Each outlet stocks locally sourced products that fulfill up to 90% of daily consumer needs, all at competitive prices. To further enhance affordability, the chain has developed its own private-label food products, covering over 10% of household necessities, with plans to expand its product range in the coming years.
The hard discount model has proven highly successful, driving rapid expansion from just 56 outlets in late 2017 to over 200 by 2025. This growth reflects Kheir Zaman’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality goods to budget-conscious consumers across Egypt. With continued innovation and expansion, the chain is poised to strengthen its position as a leading retail option for affordable daily essentials.
