With the support of Youssef Mansour, Co-Chairman of the Mansour Group of Companies, a number of civil society organizations, and some public figures, hospitals in Qasr Al-Aini witnessed, on Wednesday, March 4th, the opening of the Laparoscopic Virtual Simulation Laboratory, and the acquisition of skills in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, which is the first unit of Its kind for virtual simulation, and learning skills in Egypt and the Middle East, especially the skills of laparoscopic and uterine surgeries, before performing actual surgeries, according to the system in force in developed countries.
The laboratory provides advanced training in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy as it includes the latest surgical simulation devices with a 3D vision with a 360-degree angle, and it also includes special programs to learn myomectomy, hysterectomy and laparoscopic surgeries safely.
In addition to these specialties, there will be other programs for training surgeons of various specialties, such as young doctors, from the Department of Urology and the Department of General Surgery, without any additional costs for doctors or the university, thanks to the advanced equipment that this laboratory includes.
Within the framework of his keen interest in the group’s social responsibility, Youssef Mansour continued implementing the efforts of Metro Market for Trade and Distribution – one of the Mansour Group companies – to contribute to the establishment of the center and the purchase of two laparoscopes in this laboratory. Lab & Simulation from the German company’s agent in Egypt, and handing it over to the hospital administration, and a delegation from the group from the departments of Corporate Affairs and Medical Care visited the unit in its experimental stages, and inspected the work of the aforementioned devices on the ground and the extent of their contribution to the development of the hospital’s medical system.
