Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly received a letter from businessman Youssef Mansour, Chairman of “Al-Mansour Holding Group,” regarding his contribution of 51.5 million pounds to support the state’s efforts to confront the repercussions of the “emerging coronavirus.”
Youssef Mansour explained in his speech that his donation includes allocating 25 million pounds in cash to benefit the Ministry of Health and Population. These funds support the Ministry in rehabilitating and raising the efficiency of fever and chest hospitals. Additionally, Mansour allocated a donation of ten million pounds in cash for the “Tahya Masr Fund” to support the Ministry of Health’s work. The funds will help provide its needs for prevention supplies, medical supplies, and equipment.
The businessman’s contribution included in-kind donations of 15 million pounds to purchase 200,000 cartons of food boxes from the “Metro” and “Kheir Zaman” chains. Of those, 100 thousand cartons will be allocated to doctors and nurses in fever and quarantine hospitals, which bear the most significant risks as the first defense line against Covid-19. The remaining 100,000 cartons are allocated for the “Tahya Masr Fund,” which will direct them to the neediest families and families of daily workers most affected by the precautionary measures aimed at containing the virus outbreak.
The Chairman of “Al-Mansour Holding Group” also pointed out in his speech that, within the framework of the group’s social responsibility, cooperation with the “Egyptian Food Bank” had taken care of 10 thousand families’ needs. These donations are valued at 1.5 million pounds.
